VISITOR INFORMATION

To ensure a safe return to live events, we’ve put a number of measures in place to create a safe environment for everyone who attends.  Our COVID Safe Plan has been approved by Queensland Health, and to ensure it is effective we are asking for your support in the following areas when attending an event at the BEC.

  • Stay home if you are feeling unwell, have been in contact with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 14 days, or are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.
  • When you arrive you will be required to check-in using the Queensland Government’s, Check-In QLD app for contact tracing.
  • Always practice a high-level of hygiene, including washing your hands and/or using hand sanitiser regularly and always cover sneezes or coughs with your arm, not your hands.
  • Maintain a social distance of 1.5 metres from anyone who is not part of your group once you arrive.
  • Keep a facemask on you at all times.  We strongly recommend you bring a facemask to wear when you are in a situation where you cannot socially distance whilst moving around the BEC.
  • To avoid congestion, we suggest you plan to arrive early, and always follow the directions from our staff when entering/exiting, or moving around the BEC grounds and arena precinct.
  • Only use the seat that is outlined on your ticket, and remain seated at all times unless you are purchasing food or drinks or using the restrooms.
  • Please ensure you familiarise yourself with our updated Conditions of Entry.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

We have noted a few important updates and reminders so you are fully prepared before you arrive.

  • Download the Check-In QLD app on your smartphone before you arrive at the venue.  If you do not have a smartphone, there will be an alternate option available. For those with minors, we recommend adding their details to your Frequent Guests for a faster check-in. www.covid19.qld.gov.au/check-in-qld
  • Please ensure each individual person entering is in possession of their own event ticket to reduce congestion at the turnstiles.  If you have a mobile ticket, there is an option to share your tickets, otherwise print them out and distribute them amongst your group.
  • The BEC is a cashless venue.  All transactions including car parking, food, drink and tour merchandise will require a debit/credit card only.  ATM’s are no longer in operation.
  • Strict size limits on all backpacks and bags is in place for most events. Bags larger than an A4 sheet of paper will not be permitted into the venue.  For details, please visit the event page of the show you are attending. We encourage you to adopt a “less is best approach” to assist in reducing COVID-19 touch points. If you need to bring a large bag for medical or other essential reasons, please notify us in advance of attending the event for ease of entry.  All bags are subject to a security search prior to entry.
  • Hand sanitising & hand washing stations will be in various locations around our entry/exit points and foyers for your personal use.
  • The BEC is currently allowed 100% of our seated capacity in the Main Arena.  This means there will be patrons occupying seats all around you, limiting your ability to social distance in your seat.

BEC COMMITMENT TO YOU

We have introduced additional procedures around the BEC to assist in reducing potential health associated risks.

  • The BEC has embraced the environmental hygiene program created by ASM Global called VenueShield, which is redefining hygienic regimes for guests and employee safety during COVID-19.  The VenueShield Program has been designed to incorporate the most advanced safeguards and protocols to serve the BEC patrons, hirers, players, performers, staff, contractors and other visitors.
  • At all times, the BEC has incorporated the protocols provided by Queensland Health, in addition to all Federal Government requirements. Where appropriate the BEC has also drawn on the Retail Food Services and the Queensland Hotels Association Approved Industry Plan.
  • Our COVID Safe Plan will be regularly reviewed in accordance with Queensland Health and the Chief Medical Officers’ updates.
