Technical Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Technical professional to join the Centre’s management team. Reporting directly to the General Manager the Technical Manager will be required to oversee the technical requirements and delivery of events at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. The role involves normal business hours as well as additional hours to assist in the delivery of Events which are on evenings, weekends and public holidays.  

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications and experience; 

  • Have a minimum of 5 years in a Technical services role preferably with event management experience
  • Be an effective leader with the capacity to coach, motivate and manage staff, contractors and suppliers
  • Proven ability to work in an ever changing and dynamic environment with competing priorities
  • Have a strong working knowledge and understanding of WHS and legislative requirements
  • The ability to communicate at all levels written and verbal
  • Have strong time management and attention to detail skills ensuring cost effective and timely delivery of technical services
  • Proven ability to work harmoniously as part of a Management team
  • Have experience and knowledge of Emergency Management Planning
  • Highly experienced in AutoCAD and able to produce seating plans, interpret rigging plots and production elements for events. 

Essential qualifications; 

  • General Construction Induction card
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Work Safely at Heights certification
  • High Risk Workers License – Intermediate Rigger
  • Applied First Aid certificate
  • MS Office skills

Desirable qualifications; 

  • High Risk Workers License – Forklift

The successful applicant will be required to provide the Centre with a National Police History Check.
